I am going to tell you about the best place to pick your own Sunflowers, only 10 mins away from Chipping Campden. And the bonus part is, you will also be raising money for charity!
Things you’ll need:
- Sturdy Shoes or boots
- Your own secateurs or cutting implement
- Cash for a donation
Where to find Pick Your Own Sunflowers
You’ll find these wonderful sculptural sunflowers in a field Lower Clopton Farm Shop and Cafe, just past Mickleton. If you travel by car from Chipping Campden to Mickleton and follow the road and signs to Stratford-upon-Avon. As you pass through Mickleton you will go over a zebra crossing and turn left at the roundabout. Drive past the Mickleton Antiques Centre on your left and Pages Farm Shop, then be careful of the sharp bend around to the right. Keep along this road and you will see Lower Clopton Farm Shop and Cafe on the right hand side.
How to access the Sunflower field
As you turn into the Farm, you will see a signpost to an overflow parking to your left. There is also a sign pointing straight ahead for the sunflowers, but this is a bit confusing as you can only walk beyond this point. I actually parked to the right, in front of the Farm Shop, as there were plenty of spaces.
Once parked, I walked back to the sign which pointed me straight ahead and up a little slope. I would just say that it would be better to wear sturdy shoes or boots as the ‘walkway’ has been covered in hardcore made up of lots of broken up bricks and stones etc, so it is quite uneven.
It is all worth it though, as once at the top of the slope the fields and hills come into view. Just turn to your left and you will see the sunflowers stood in all their glory! It’s just a short walk to the site where you can pick your own sunflowers to take home.

Conclusion
Honeypot Cottages thoroughly recommend you take the short trip out to Lower Clopton Farm Shop and Café and Pick Your Own Sunflowers! As you have probably noticed, yellow is our favourite colour and we obviously support the honey-making ability bees, who seem to love sunflowers! Once on the Farm, the walk over hardcore is not the easiest, but if you have sturdy footwear and a good pair of secateurs to cut the sunflowers, the payoff is more than worth it:
- You’re enjoying the outdoors
- You get to choose and pick your own sunflowers
- You get to support a local charity who are making a difference to people’s lives every day.
Don’t delay!! Pick Your Own Sunflowers runs until the 28th August, so get out, get picking and get donating!
